Glasgow University Biomedical Engineering Society (commonly referred to as GUBMES) is a student-led society based in the University of Glasgow for biomedical engineering. Founded in 2012, our Society is growing and developing rapidly every academic year.

We aim to maintain close contacts with the teaching staff and industry representatives to provide a well-rounded experience for biomedical engineering students.

We offer a variety of events throughout the academic year. Our events are focused on providing interesting and relevant information for our current and new biomedical engineering students. All the future events will be published on our Events page, so make sure to keep an eye on that to participate!

How to join

We welcome everyone who studies biomedical engineering or wants to know more about our field of study. You can join our society by attending our events or sending a message to us!

Our mission

Our mission is to promote interdisciplinary approach to students by incorporating biology, physics, chemistry and engineering to help the creation of innovative technologies. We hope to create a community of biomedical students coming from different backgrounds and integrate academics and industry perspectives for students.
